Michaels Stores:
Michaels Stores Inc. is the largest specialty retailer of arts and crafts in the US. With more than 900 stores operating in its Michaels, Aaron Brothers and Star Wholesale network (as of  January 2004), the corporation has produced record sales and profits for the past six years – a major accomplishment for any company.

In 2000, Michaels Stores and OOCL Logistics (then Cargo System) began a logistics service partnership. OOCL Logistics was then selected to perform cargo consolidation and tracking services for shipments destined to Michaels distribution center locations in the US originating in Hong Kong and South China.

'A search process was undertaken earlier this year to enlist the support and services of a single entity that could effectively meet Michaels' US inbound logistics requirements. As part of this process, several reputable, capable and experienced logistics service providers were reviewed and evaluated as potential partners. In the final assessment, OOCL Logistics was selected based on its service and systems capabilities and its historical performance in Asia.'
