OOCL Logistics Strengthens Service Focus through Reorganization OOCL Logistics, the logistics management division of OOIL Group, is to reorganize in order to support its further expansion as a first-tier logistics provider and to create greater synergies with the liner service.
With effect on 1 June, 2004, OOCL Logistics will move its headquarters back to Hong Kong. Mr. Allan T.S. Wong, a member of Executive Committee of OOCL Group, will be appointed the CEO and Mr. John Firman, the vice-chairman. Under the helm of both of them, OOCL Logistics will be structured into three business units to establish clear focus in the following target segments: International Logistics, China Logistics and E-Business.
The international logistics unit will focus on serving customers with global sourcing and supply-chain management needs. It will create value for customers by offering end-to-end international logistics services.
The China Logistics unit will continue to develop more sophisticated transportation, warehousing and distribution services in the PRC to serve both domestic and international customers.
The newly-created e-Business unit will provide next-generation supply chain applications and e-solutions for customers, taking advantage of OOCL Group's industry-leading technology platforms.
