OOCL Logistics to Open a New Warehouse in Waigaoqiao Logistics Park

As part of its distribution program involving the development of a nationwide network of regional distribution centers, warehouses and cross-dock operations in all key locations throughout the strategically important China market, OOCL through its logistics arm, "OOCL Logistics", has recently contracted a 13,400 square-meter warehouse in Waigaoqiao Logistics Park.

Waigaoqiao Logistics Park is a pioneering trial project originated by the Chinese government and the city of Shanghai to establish a real international free-trade zone in the area. It will work as a blueprint for other bonded zones in China.

Under the operation of the recently-registered company, "OOCL Logistics Shanghai Warehousing and Transportation Co. Ltd.", the warehouse will start operation in July this year. It is one of the four operators in the logistics park at this experimental stage. It will provide export consolidation, import warehousing and distribution as well as multi-country consolidation services to its multi-national customers from different business areas, including manufacturing, investing and forwarding, who are attracted to the logistics park for its value-added tax refunds and simplified procedures for cargo flow, both inside and outside China.

This pioneering move into the new logistics park demonstrates OOCL Logistics' progressive attitude in always seeking to provide its customers with an optimum environment in which to develop their businesses.
