OOCL Logistics is pleased to announce the official opening of its latest facility, the OOCL Logistics Tianjin Warehouse, located in the Tianjin Bonded Logistics Park, on 29 November 2006.

This event marks the opening of another major bonded OOCL Logistics warehouse, added to the company’s current warehouse facilities in bonded logistics parks in Shanghai, Dalian and Xiamen. It also offers a number of important “firsts” for OOCL Logistics.

The new warehouse, operated by OOCL Logistics Warehousing and Transportation (Tianjin) Co Ltd., is the first facility whereon OOCL Logistics owns usage of the land, and the first facility designed specifically to OOCL Logistics’ specifications. Most importantly, the building of the new warehouse was supervised by OOCL Logistics to fulfill the company’s own quality standards for construction.

The Tianjin warehouse is our latest addition to the OOCL Logistics China facility network; providing OOCL Logistics’ Chinese and global customers with increasingly comprehensive, high-quality and efficient logistics services.

In his opening address at the warehouse, Chairman and CEO of Orient Overseas (International) Ltd., Mr. CC Tung said, “OOCL would like to develop Tianjin as its strategic base of operation in North and North East China. Based on our well developed hardware, such as our terminal and warehouse facilities, and our current trunk line services connecting Tianjin with North America, Europe and Asia, we will continue to perfect our logistics infrastructure to sustain and propel the steady growth of the import/export box volumes.”

The new warehouse has an area of approximately 21,000 square-meters. Following state-of-the-art designs, the facility provides a clean, temperature-controlled environment and is currently the largest, most advanced warehouse in North China. The commencement of the warehouse’s operation symbolizes a new era for OOCL Logistics in the development of its bonded logistics services, and it is a great step forward in OOCL Logistics’ strategic deployment of warehouses in various bonded logistics parks across China.

With the new facility, OOCL logistics will provide its customers with pooled distribution, import warehousing and delivery; multiple country / regional consolidation; international cross-docking; and other value-added services tailored for specific needs. In addition to providing real-time storage and operations information, the advanced management system of the warehouse also allows customers to monitor and observe the distribution and storage of their consignments from distant places and countries.
