Accountabilities

  • Contract Drafting & Review: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal and commercial documents, including company articles of association, joint venture agreements, and service contracts / agreements to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. 
  • Strategic Legal Advisory: Coordinate with internal and external lawyers to provide strategic legal opinions and advice to senior management to support decision-making on commercial, litigation, and corporate governance matters. 
  • Claims & Dispute Management: Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external counsels, efficiently managing legal follow-ups on commercial, litigation, dispute and arbitration cases. 
  • Policy & Procedure Development: Develop and implement forward-thinking guidelines, policies, and procedures for the legal and claims-related issues to enhance operational efficiency and risk management. 
  • Team Guidance: Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to frontline regional offices in handling intricate cases and legal documents, including commercial contracts and agreements. 


Requirements​

  • Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) required. A qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or a common law jurisdiction is preferred. 
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably within the international logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding industry.  
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of industry-specific laws and regulations, including international conventions, coupled with substantial practical experience in drafting and negotiating logistics contracts and handling claims and disputes. 
  • Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation. A proactive, innovative, and self-motivated mindset, with a proven ability to work autonomously under pressure and tight deadlines. 
  • Language: Proficiency in English and Chinese is essential, good commend in Mandarin (Putonghua) is highly advantageous for liaising with mainland China counterparts.
